18 years of vision, determination, financial sacrifice and sheer hard work came to fruition in Darlington this week. A brand new LNER Peppercorn A1 Pacific has been built from scratch, and for the past few days has been running under its own steam. Following a highly successful VIP and Press day yesterday, today was the chance for the 2000+ Covenantors to have a private view. Tornado is planned to run in on the Great Central Railway from September, then go to York for main line trials and painting into LNER apple green livery with BR lettering. Revenue earning tours should start early in 2009. Congratulations to all involved in this magnificent 'story so far'.
