Pat Time Rail brought John Cameron's Gresley Class A4 Pacific No 50009 Union of South Africa from the Severn Valley Railway to Carlisle for a southbound run to Settle and, eventually, Crewe. Roadworks on the M6b delayed my arrival at Appleby: when I got there, the loco had already arrived and set back into the siding. But there was plenty more time to view this splendid locomotive.
