PMR Tours ran another of their marathon railtours from Manchester to Glasgow, with Stanier 4-6-2 Duchess of Sutherland hauling the train from Carnforth to Glasgow and return. The northbound climbs over Shap and Beattock were spectacular.. The Duchess looked magnificent at the head of an all-maroon rake of 13 coaches, with performance to match.
