On 7 August I paid a brief visit to York at midday, to capture a green A4 with maroon coaches under the magnificent station roof. A classic and magnificent sight, even though in poor light. Two days later on 9 August, I had a Day Rover for all 212 miles York - Harrogate - Leeds - York - Scarborough - York - Leeds - Harrogate - York. Brilliant sun all day and a Gresley engine in fine form made an unforgettable experience.
