Today, at last, I achieved my goal of seeing Sir Lamiel under the York station roof, and heading for the coast on the Scarborough Spa Express.

The sunlight was not strong enough to bring out the best of the engine's immaculate BR Brunswick green livery, but it was still a fine sight, not to mention the strong firm beat of the exhaust as the train pulled out.
